The Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician equips individuals with the practical skills and technical knowledge required to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises.

This nationally recognized qualification includes the Essential Performance Capabilities outlined by the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC) for obtaining an Unrestricted Electrician’s Licence. As the course involves work on electrical installations operating above 50V AC or 120V DC, students must hold the appropriate licence or permit, or be undertaking training under a formal apprenticeship.

For Registered Electrical Apprentices

For learners under an approved training contract with a licensed employer

For learners completing UEE30820 under an approved apprenticeship arrangement. Training combines employer-supervised on-the-job experience with structured off-the-job learning, paced to a nominal four-year training contract and completed as competency requirements are met.

Electrical Journeyman Pathway

For Licensed HVAC Technicians

For holders of RAC01 Refrigerant Handling Licence + state HVAC licence

Eligible licensed HVAC technicians may receive Credit Transfer for equivalent units already completed, then complete the remaining UEE30820 training, workplace evidence and assessment requirements. Electrical licensing is determined separately by the relevant regulator.
